| STATEMENT OF FAITH DEITY OF SCRIPTURES We believe the Bible (the Word), both the Old and New Testament is the inspired word of God, given by inspiration of the Holy Spirit, and is the final authority for the Christian Life. (2 Timothy 3:15-17; 1 Peter 2:2; 2 Pet. 1:20-21; I Corinthians 2:13) TRINITY We believe there is only one living and true God, infinitely perfect and holy, who has revealed Himself in three Persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit, the Creator of all things, eternal in existence and equal in glory, majesty and power, distinguishable but indivisible. (Matt 28:19; Luke 3:21 -22) (Deuteronomy 6:4; Mark 12:29; Isaiah 43:10, 11; Matthew 28:19; Luke 3:22; II Corinthians 13:14) CREATION AND FALL OF MAN We believe that man is born a sinful being in need of salvation. We believe that in the beginning man was created good, but by voluntary transgression, fell, and suffers total separation from God. Man's only hope of redemption and salvation is in Jesus Christ the Son of God. (Genesis 1:26-31: 3:1-7; Psalm 51:5; Ecclesiastes 7:29; John 6:44; Romans 5:12-21; 1 Corinthians 2:14) The process of salvation called ‘born-again’ takes place through a combination of faith and confession. As a person makes the decision to believe in the virgin birth, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, then confesses with his mouth the Lordship of Jesus in his life, a miracle of regeneration by the Holy Spirit takes place. A new Christian is born into the Kingdom of God and, for him, old things are passed away and all things are new. THE VIRGIN BIRTH, LIFE, DEATH, & RESURRECTION OF JESUS We believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and His Deity, the Savior of men, conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, the union of God and man, very true God and very true man. (Luke 1:26-35; John 1:14-18; Isaiah 7:14, 9:6) We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and the son of man, lived a sinless life, and came to save man from condemnation of all sin by offering His blood as an atoning sacrifice through death on the cross, making salvation available to all who exercise faith in Him. We believe Jesus was buried and rose again the third day, and personally appeared to His disciples. We believe Jesus arose bodily from the dead, in the bodily ascension into heaven of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, and is presently seated at the right hand of the father as our high Priest and Advocate. We believe in Jesus' exaltation and imminent personal, literal, and bodily coming again the second time for His Church. (Matthew 1:23; Luke 1:31, 35; John 3:16; John 14:2-3; Acts 1:11; Romans 2:2; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 1 Corinthians 15:1-4; 2 Corinthians 5:21). GRACE & SALVATION We believe in the salvation by grace through repentance and faith in the work of Jesus at the cross of Calvary and His shed blood by which we obtain forgiveness and remission of sins. (Ephesians 2:8-9; Hebrews 9:12-22; Romans 5:11; 10:9-13) We believe that regeneration by the Holy Spirit is essential for the salvation of lost and sinful man. (Luke 7:50, 24:47; Romans 10:13-15; 1 Corinthians 1:18; 2 Corinthians 2:15; Ephesians 2:8, 9; 2 Timothy 1:9; Titus 2:11, 3:5-7) We believe man is saved by the by the regeneration and renewing of the Holy Ghost, and, being justified by grace through faith, he becomes an heir of God according to the hope of eternal life. (Titus 2:11; Romans 10:13-15; Luke 23:47; Titus 3:5-7) The "inward" evidence to the believer of his salvation is the direct witness of the Spirit (Romans 8:16). The "outward" evidence of his salvation to all men is a life of righteousness and true holiness. WATER BAPTISM We believe in the necessity of water baptism after salvation by immersion in the Name of the eternal Godhead in order to fulfill the command of the Lord Jesus Christ. (Matthew 28:19, Acts 2:34-36, 19:1-6) We believe the ordinance of baptism by a burial with Christ should be observed as commanded in the Scriptures, by all who have repented and in their hearts have truly believed in Christ as Savior and Lord. In so doing, they have the body washed in pure water as an outward symbol of cleansing, while their heart has already been sprinkled with the blood of Christ as an inner cleansing. Thus, they declare to the world that they have died with Jesus and that they have also been raised with Him to walk in newness of life. Water baptism is not, however, to be confused with or regarded as a means of salvation. The shed blood of Jesus Christ and His resurrection provide the only grounds for justification and salvation. (Matthew 28:19; Acts 10:47-48; Romans 6:4; Acts 20:21; Hebrews 10:22). BAPTISM, GIFTS, & WORK OF THE HOLY SPIRIT We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit, the Father's promise to all believers, is a real and unique work of the Holy Spirit and is experienced and evidenced by speaking with other tongues as the Holy Spirit of God gives utterance and is given to empower believers for witnessing and ministry through the supernatural gifts. (Acts 2:1-4, 8:14-17, 10:44-46; Galatians 3:14-15) The manifestation of speaking in other tongues, in this instance, is the same in essence as the gift of tongues (1 Corinthians 12:4-10, 28) but different in purpose and use. We believe that the baptism in the Holy Spirit is given to all believers who ask for it (Joel 2:28; Acts 2:4). We believe the Scriptures ascribe to the Holy Spirit the acts and attributes of an intelligent being, and that the works of God such as creation, inspiration, giving of life, and sanctification are also ascribed to the Holy Spirit. (Genesis 1:2; Job 33:4; Mark 3:29; John 16:8, 13; Acts 7:51, 10:19, 13:2, 13:4, 16:6; 1 Corinthians 2:11, 6:11, 12; Ephesians 4:30; 1 Peter 3:18; 2 Peter 1:21) The present day ministry of the Holy Spirit is to comfort and guide the believer with the final purpose of glorifying the Lord Jesus in the earth. During this age, He indwells, guides, instructs, and empowers the believer for Godly living and service. Every believer should be filled with the Holy Spirit with speaking in tongues as the initial physical evidence. Every born- again, spirit-filled believer should maintain a consistent prayer life in both praying with the understanding and praying in the Spirit. We believe in the sanctifying power of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a holy life. (Romans 8:5; Philippians 2:12-13; I Thessalonians 4:3; 1 John 2:29) We believe in the operation of the gifts of the Spirit as enumerated in I Corinthians 12-14 and manifested in the early Church. We believe that all believers are entitled to, and should expect, and earnestly seek, the promise of the Father, the baptism in the Holy Ghost and fire, according to the command of our Lord Jesus Christ. This was the normal experience of all in the early Christian church. With it comes the endowments of power for life and service, the bestowing of the gifts and their uses in the work of the ministry (Luke 24:29; Acts 1:4; 1:8; 1 Corinthians 12:1-31). This wonderful experience is distinct from and subsequent to the experience of the new birth. (Acts 10:44-46; 11:14-16; 15:7-9) SEPARATED SPIRIT FILLED LIFE & HOLINESS We believe in the Spirit-filled life, a life of separation from the world and perfecting of holiness in the fear of God as expressing the true Christian faith. (Ephesians 5:19; II Corinthians 6:14; 7:1) We believe the Scriptures teach a life of holiness without which no man shall see the Lord. By the power of the Holy Ghost we are able to obey the command, "Be ye holy, for I am holy." Entire sanctification is the will of God for all believers, and should be earnestly pursued by walking in obedience to God's Word. (Hebrews 12:14; 1 Peter 1:15-16; I Thessalonians 5:23-24; 1 John 2:6) AUTHORITY OF STATEMENT OF FAITH Without faith it is impossible to please God. The Word tells us that the just (those who have been justified by the Blood of Jesus), shall live by faith. The redemptive work of Jesus not only provided salvation for the believer but provided healing and prosperity as well for our spiritual, soulish, and physical man. We are redeemed from the curse of the law -poverty, sickness, spiritual death, demonic oppression, etc. Our lives can be prosperous and healthy in every realm as we walk in the light of this redemption by faith in God’s Word. DIVINE HEALING We believe in the healing of the body by the divine power of Jesus Christ, healing in the name of Jesus, or divine healing in its varied aspects as practiced in the early Church. (Acts 4:30; Romans 8:11; I Corinthians 12:9; James 5:14) We believe that physical healing, creative miracles, physical restoration, and deliverance from sickness is provided for in the atoning and redemptive work of Christ on the cross and is the privilege of all who believe. (Isaiah 53:4, 5; James 5:14, 15; 1 Peter 2:24; Matthew 8:16-17) LAYING ON OF HANDS We believe in the laying on of hands to bestow spiritual gifts, to set apart, to send and release fellow believers, through prophetic utterance as the early Church practiced in Antioch. (Hebrews 6:1; Acts 13:1-3; I Timothy 4:14) COMMUNION OF THE LORD'S TABLE We believe in the table of the Lord, frequently called "Communion" or the "Lord’s Supper", for all believers. ( I Corinthians 11:28-32; Matthew 26:26-28) We believe the Lord's Supper, consisting of the elements, bread and the fruit of the vine, is the symbol expressing our sharing the divine nature of our Lord Jesus Christ (2 Peter 1:4), a memorial of His suffering and death 1 Corinthians 11:26). It is enjoined on all believers "until He comes." The Lord’s Supper is an ordinances to be observed by the Church during the present age. They are not however, to be confused with or regarded as a means of salvation. The shed blood of Jesus Christ and His resurrection provide the only grounds for justification and salvation. RESURRECTION, RAPTURE, & MILLENNIAL REIGN We believe the resurrection of those who have fallen asleep in Christ and their translation, together with those who are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord, is the imminent and blessed hope of the church. (I Thessalonians 4:16-17; Titus 2:12; I Corinthians 15:51-52; Romans 8:23) We believe the revelation of the Lord Jesus Christ from heaven, the salvation of national Israel, and the Millennial reign of Christ on earth is the Scriptural promise and the world's hope. (II Thessalonians 1:17; Revelation 19:11-14; Romans 11:26-27; Revelation 20:1-7) We believe "according to His promise, look for new heavens, and a new earth wherein dwelleth righteousness" (II Peter 3:13; Revelation 21:21). We believe Jesus Christ will return to earth and establish His physical Kingdom and begin a one thousand year reign. After the thousand year reign, there will be a bodily resurrection of the unrighteous dead from all time, to be judged at the White Throne Judgement. HELL & THE LAKE OF FIRE JUDGEMENT We believe in the reality and the personality of the devil and the eternal judgment in the Lake of Fire for the devil and his angels. (Matthew 25:41; Revelation 20:14-15) We believe the devil and his angels, the beast and the false prophet, and whosoever is not found written in the Book of Life, shall be consigned to everlasting punishment in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death (Revelation 19:20; Revelation 20:10-15). ETERNAL LIFE & PUNISHMENT We believe in eternal life for believers and eternal punishment for unbelievers. (John 3:16, 5:24; Mark 9:43; II Thessalonians 1:9; Revelation 20:10-15) We believe that all mankind is subject to the death of the body as a result of original sin. The soul and spirit do not die, but immediately after death enter into a conscious state of happiness or misery according to the character here possessed by rejection or acceptance of the Savior. (Ecclesiastes 12:7; Romans 5:12; Philippians 1:23) We believe in the bodily resurrection of both the saved and the lost; the saved to everlasting life and the lost without Christ to everlasting damnation. (Matthew 24:31-46; Acts 24:15; Revelation 22:11) THE UNIVERSAL CHURCH & MINISTRIES We believe in one true universal Church, composed of genuine individual believers(all those who are born again) and Church bodies worldwide. This one Church is the Body Of Christ and is under the sovereign headship of the Lord Jesus Christ, exercising autonomous government under Him to administer its affairs and ministry in the propagation of the Gospel. (Acts 15:22; Matthew 16:18, 18:20) We believe the church is the body of Christ, the habitation of God through the Spirit with divine appointments for the fulfillment of the great commission. Each believer, born of the Spirit, is an integral part of the church. (Ephesians 1:22-23; 2: 22; Hebrews 12:33). We believe a divinely called and scripturally ordained ministry has been provided by our Lord for a twofold purpose: The evangelization of the world, and the edifying of the Body of Christ (Mark 16:15-20; Ephesians 4:11-13). We believe the church is responsible to equip God's people with His Word of faith, teaching them how to use their spiritual weapons and send them out in victorious battle for the LORD in fulfilling the Great Commission. (Ephesians 6:18; Romans 8:26-28; Matthew 16:19) We believe God has provided leadership for the local Church through the ministry gifts, which only He can give. Every local church or ministry has the right, under Christ, to decide and govern its own affairs. THE GREAT COMMISSION We believe that all believers have been given authority through our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, and have been commissioned to "destroy the works of the devil" by continuing the works Jesus started while on this earth. (1 John 3:8; Matthew 10:7-8; Mark 11:22-25; Luke 9:1-2; Luke 10:18-19; John 14:12-14) We believe that all believers have a mandate from the Lord Jesus to fulfill His Great Commission, including: preaching the gospel of salvation through Jesus, baptizing of new believers in water, casting out demons with the authority of the name of Jesus, speaking in new tongues through the baptism and indwelling of the Holy Spirit, and healing the sick through laying on of hands. (Mark 16:15-20; Matthew 17:20, Matthew 16:19, Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 1:8) FIVE FOLD MINISTRY GIFTS We believe the five-fold ministry gifts are the governing gifts to the Church - Apostles, Prophets, Pastors, Teachers and Evangelists. (Ephesians 4:11) GOD ORDAINED GOVERNMENT We believe government, and the powers that be, are ordained as ministers of God to us for good. To resist their laws and ordinances is to resist the authority of God. As Christian citizens, we will assist in every way possible that is consistent with our faith and the Holy Scriptures. (Romans 13; I Peter 2:13-17) |
